Yoga and Anxiety: Understanding the Nervous System

If you experience anxiety, panic attacks, or a constant sense of worry, this 3 week series is designed especially for you. During our time together, we will develop personalized anxiety management tool kits, so you will leave this course feeling resourced and empowered. Using the framework of Integrated Movement Therapy TM – a non-prescriptive therapy model that utilizes yoga, as well as a variety of other therapeutic practices to facilitate a holistic healing experience – you will:

  • Gain a greater understanding of anxiety on neuro-physiological, social, and energetic levels

  • Learn practical tools you can use to help manage anxiety and associated symptoms

  • Connect with community through shared experience


This program will focus on the science of anxiety, and how it manifests and affects us physically, energetically, and socially.

Each class in the series will include journaling, therapeutic techniques, and a physical yoga practice which is accessible to all bodies and abilities.

Bonny Chipman is an E-RYT 500, Certified Accessible Yoga teacher, and Integrated Movement Therapist. She has been teaching yoga for over a decade and offering her Yoga for Anxiety workshops and series for the past 6 years. Her personal experiences with chronic illness and anxiety fueled her desire to develop a program that offers accessible tools, rooted in IMT and yoga, to help manage anxiety and empower those, like herself, who struggle with it.
