US meets UK: Yoga to Heal Domestic Violence

The reason you were abused has nothing to do with you. It wasn't your behavior, your personality, or your choices that caused the abuse. The only person responsible for the abuse was the one who chose to abuse you.

Full Lips Podcast and Om Thrive Foundation have joined forces to create this incredibly important and necessary UK meets US event via Zoom, to help those currently in or recovering from domestic violence abuse.

Healing is a process and you deciding to attend this two day workshop is already a huge accomplishment in itself and we've spent weeks crafting this special event to assist and encourage your journey from hurt to healed.

ALL ARE WELCOME.

Agenda:

10:00 am - Welcome and Intro from Lola, Founder of Full Lips Podcast

10:10 am - No One Deserves to Be Abused Address and Q&A from Day, Founder of Om Thrive

10:20 am - Guided Meditation from Day

10:30 am - Healing Slow Flow Yoga from Keyonda

11:30 am - Sound Healing from Graciela

11:45 am - Come back to Center from Graciela

11:55 am - Conclusion and Farewell

Part 2 of this Workshop will be presented on June 21, 2020 which is Father's Day in US and International Day of Yoga and will focus on healing from PTSD.

Om Thrive Volunteer Meeting

Thank you to all who expressed interest in Volunteering with Om Thrive! This meeting will be the first of the Blazer season to get our volunteer groups for the Moda Center up and running.

This is an annual opportunity that kicks off with the Blazer season in October. New nonprofit participants in this program are encouraged to recruit at least 25 volunteers to rotate shifts throughout the season. Each event only needs 8 – 10 volunteers so you can pick what dates you are available for. Each event shift is about 4 hours in duration.

Event lists are released 1 month in advance. I should be getting an event schedule for October later this week. FYI - There is NO PRESSURE for us to begin right away. We can start volunteer groups in November or December if that works better for our groups. My goal is to have a solid group of rotating volunteers by January 2019.

We will discuss requirements and review the event schedule for the month of October to choose which events will work best for the groups.

Please bring anyone with you that is interested even if they can't commit to this year. I plan on doing this for multiple years so the more the better!

Contact Day Bibb for more information at 352-322-9019 or day@omthrive.org. Thank you!
