Andrea

Andrea Larreta is from Los Angeles, California. She received her early classical training with dancers formerly of Ballet West, American Ballet Theater, and Basel Ballet. She attended the Idyllwild Arts academy and graduated with honors, spending her summers training with Gelsey Kirkland. Andrea went on to study on scholarship at SMU, attending the Paul Taylor School and Martha Graham School over the summers before graduating with a BFA, Cum Laude, in Dance. In 2006, Andrea moved to Seattle. In Seattle she appeared in works by Deb Wolf, Rainbow Fletcher, Zoe Scofield, and Lauren Edson, among others. Andrea danced with Coriolis Dance Collective for 6 years, during which time the Seattle Times called her a, "diminutive dynamo," (2012) and her choreography, "the most succinct and dynamic in the show," (2013). Andrea has been in Portland since 2015, and has worked in dance and film, including The Portland Opera, Imago Theatre, TransformOtion, Polaris Dance Theater, Wild Rumpus Jazz Dance Company, and Lyrik Dance Company, as well as commercials for the American Music Awards, Goodwill Industries, and Swinomish Casino. While her yoga journey started in high school with some VHS tapes, she didn't start practicing regularly until she joined Urban Yoga Spa in Seattle in 2012. After practicing almost daily for several years, she received her 200 hour RYT certification from CorePower Yoga in 2016. Andrea's class emphasizes linking breath with movement and encourages students to make choices in their flow that best serve their needs.
